Well gang, we’ve made it. 2018 was a wild ride–there were so many amazing (and some not-so-amazing) things that happened this year. I had my first DEF CON, I travelled to a few places I’ve never been before, I learned a lot of new things (and shared some of them with you), and I wrote a lot of words (I shared some of those with you, too). I changed day jobs (and then changed again when things didn’t work out as planned). I’ve picked up freelance clients that I absolutely love working with. I’ve written short stories that got some great critical reviews. And somehow I managed to get married in there too, somewhere.
I guess the big thing that I want to tell you, dear reader, as we bid farewell to 2018, is that I am very thankful for you. All the notes of encouragement, all the post clicks, likes, follows, shares, and kind comments have helped me to keep going even when things seem nearly impossible. THANK YOU. The entire month of December was rough–it’s the busiest time of the year at the day job, so writing anything this month was a rough task–but thank you so much for your understanding. THANK YOU.
We’ve come to the end of our first year here at Carolina Wordsmith, and had a blast doing it. And we (meaning me, J.D., Luna, and Bindi the SuperKitty) sincerely hope that you love what we have coming up in 2019. There will still be some focus on tech as we’ve been doing for the past few months, but we also plan to bring you more stories to warm your heart and soothe your soul in the new year.
Happy New Year, friends. Here’s to an amazing 2019.
